Well, as it turns out Nelly DOES have bone cancer. She is not doing well at all. I believe that we are going to have to put her to sleep soon. I wish this weren't the case but I don't see it any other way. Apparently, bone cancer in dogs spreads very quickly. My main concern is that she is comfortable for the time she has left. I'm going to spend some time with her tomorrow. This will probably be the last time I see her. She's been with us for 12 years. I'm extremely sad about this.

How very sad. Losing a dog is very difficult. I am so sorry. But it sounds like she had a long, happy life and lots of love.
I've had my two dogs for nine years and I would be crushed. I am so sorry about your dog, Nelly. You'll be in my thoughts.
