Knitting Flood

It's getting closer to Christmas and I am bound and determined to get some knitting in. Thursday of this week our school had Benchmark testing and I was able to get a lot of sock knitting in. I got most of the one sock completed. The only problem was that I didn't have a tape measure with me so I didn't put my whole self into trying to get it finished in that one day.

Clapotis is finished and I'm thinking I will send her to my grandmother for Christmas. Hopefully, she is not reading this otherwise the surprise will be spoiled! My grandfather already received his hat over Thanksgiving. He thought it was great!

I was working on the Log Cabin Baby Blanket today when I heard this running water sound from the apartment upstairs. Now, everyone knows how apartments are and how you usually hear everything that goes on. But unlike most places-we never hear anything from upstairs! I put down the baby blanket and went on my search of where I heard the water running noise.

At first I was concerned that it was in my apartment and somehow my apartment had begun to leak. Nope. Instead what I found was in my hallway. The floor was soaked and the ceiling showed where it was wet on the seams and there was water running down the walls!!!

I already don't feel well today-middle school sickness. So, having to deal with this flood of sorts was not something I wanted to deal with. Apparently the people upstairs had a problem with their washing machine and it flooded! How many gallons of water is that??? It must be quite a bit because I could still hear water dripping down through the walls. Their water is shut off for the weekend. My carpet has been torn up. My knitting is sitting on the couch waiting for me to come back to it. What a way to start the weekend. I guess it could have been worse.
